10 Arrangements feat. Kevbo32

Arrangements. They've been around since before I was born, and they've only gotten better. Artists and fans alike have contributed improved, modified, and genre altering takes on classics we've heard in the games themselves. My awesome guest from the Metal Gear episode Kevbo32 and I discuss how impactful arrangements are to video game culture, and we do quite a few arrangement name droppings throughout.

Near the end of the podcast, our time limit to record was cut short. We still survived, we just kinda rushed through the last third of the episode. We also had to cut out a good chunk of what we planned to discuss. That's why we have show notes :D So please check out the bonus information links. There's A LOT of worthwhile information about arrangements that we didn't get to cover. Plus, links to the Overclocked albums we mentioned.

PS: It's Ice Man, not Guts Man when Kevin's talking about "On the Rocks (Make it Double)" track in the Shuffle segment.

*Note: With the exception of "On the Rocks (Make it Double)" I opted out of adding the Overclocked tracks mentioned in the Shuffle section so that more attention could be brought to the albums they originated from.

Recommended Arrangement Albums (You're on your own finding these):
All of the Orchestral Game Music Concerts
All of the Black Mages albums
All of Inti Creates' Rockman Zero albums
Final Fantasy V: Dear Friends
Mega Man X Arranged Album
Yoko Konno: KOEI Game Music Works
Yoko Shimomura: Drammatica: The Very Best of Yoko Shimomura
Yoko Shimomura: memoria! The Very Best of Yoko Shimomura
Yasunori Mitsuda: Xenogears Cried

This list is just a fraction of the arrangement albums out there by the artists or the game companies themselves. Chances are your favorite game or video game composer has an arrangement album. Either from the original composer, the game company, or Overclocked.

Overclocked albums mentioned in this episode:

And as announced in this episode, starting with the very first Overclocked album released this year, I will be posting my reviews of Overclocked albums here on my blog. So look forward to that probably next month.
